Los Angeles based photographer and poet Janet Sternburg opened her photography show “The Behavior of Light” at Galerie Einstein, Unter den Linden in Berlin. Anne Chermak, Minister Councellor for Public Affairs at the U.S. Embassy, welcomed the artist and about eighty guests to the opening.
In her remarks Janet Sternburg explained that she prefers to work with a disposable camera and never manipulates the pictures she takes. Rather than foregrounding a central object when she gazes into a store window she becomes interested instead in all that a single pane of glass can contain. Her goal is to sharpen and to slow down people’s perception and receptivity.
